The love of natural Ayurvestra dyes & hand loomed textiles

Hand Loomed and natural dyed Ayurvestra textiles

We wanted to take a moment to introduce one of our interesting natural textiles to work with in our Pure Pod collections - Hand Loomed and natural dyed Ayurvestra textiles.

Ayurvestra is an 100% organic cotton fabric with origins that date back more than 5,000 years. This cotton is lovingly loomed and dyed all by hand in Kerala, India. Each piece of textile has the hand loom artists personal touch and every piece is different in colour, texture and feel. This embellishes the human impact of the textile for the wearer.

This textile is made particularly special and unique by its colour and natural dying process. The fabric gets its rich colours from the pure plant dyes of Ayurveda medicinal herbs. Each colourway incorporates up to 108 of these traditional plants. These herbs are known to deliver medical benefits into the skin when worn or slept in. Benefits are believed to include easing pain and mental depression, supporting good sleep, boosting the immune system and improving general well being. This allows us to produce clothes that love you just as much as you love them.
