An inspiring Australian textile designer - Claire Ritchie
This season we have been inspired by the colourful, free spirited textile art by Claire Ritchie.
We have printed some of Claire's beautiful work on Pure Pod's summer collection 'Transcending love' in a small design studio in Canberra called The Foundry.
Claire Ritchie is a textile artist based in Melbourne, Victoria Australia. She studied clothing production and fashion & textile design in Perth, WA.
Over the past 10 years she has worked hard to know many aspects of the clothing industry and this has helped shape a more conscious way of design in her work. Her mindfulness in design and the impacts of manufacturing on the environment has lead us to her work as we share the same passions and ethics of design.
Claire believes and says she designs 'Thoughtfully made items with minimal waste and include sustainable processes where I can.'
Her love for vintage items and fabrics have played a strong part in her design aesthetic and inspiration from the strong bold and bright colours in vintage designs.
Claire wants the quality and integrity of her designs to inspire people to think about what they are buying and where it is coming from.
Thanks Claire for the use of your work for this season - limited edition!
